AWARD WINNING PAINTINGS CHOSEN TO FEATURE IN TV CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF TEXACO CHILDRENS ART COMPETITION

Paintings by five former Texaco Children's Art Competition winners are currently appearing in a high profile television advertising campaign created to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Texaco Children's Art Competition.

The five students whose works will form the central creative element in the campaign are Kelly Ireland (a student at Scoil Phadraig, Ballyhale, Kilkenny), Hugh Magee (a student at St. Louis Grammar School, Kilkeel), Kevin Maunsell, (a student at Mercy Mounthawk Secondary School, Tralee), Claire Holly Scott (a student at Ballyfin National School) and Jessica Larkin (a student at Charleville Primary School, Knocklyon, Dublin).

Through the use of animation, the subject of each students art work is brought to life to catch the viewers eye before being captured in a freeze-frame to reveal the finished painting. The five 20-second commercials are now appearing on all national TV channels (RTE1, Network 2, TV3, E4, TG4, Sky and UTV) from 19th January 2004 for four weeks.
