DROGHEDA’S HIGHLANES GALLERY TO HOST TEXACO CHILDREN’S ART EXHIBITION
DUBLIN, IRELAND 1 September 2008 - The Highlanes Gallery on St. Laurence Street, Drogheda is to be the venue this month for an exhibition of the 161 winning paintings from this year’s 54th Texaco Children's Art Competition.
The exhibition will begin on Thursday 25 September 2008 with an official opening ceremony at 11.00am performed by competition adjudicator, Brenda McParland. Amongst those invited to the event will be this year’s winning artists together with representatives from a number of schools from the Drogheda area.
The exhibition will be open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm and will continue until Saturday 18 October 2008.

- The Texaco Children’s Art Competition, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2004, is the longest running sponsorship in the history of arts sponsoring in Ireland. It began life in 1955 and since then it has enjoyed an unbroken history of success.
