DUBLIN CASTLE VENUE FOR 2008 TEXACO CHILDREN’S ART COMPETITION
DUBLIN, IRELAND 27 June 2008 - Dublin Castle is to be the venue for an exhibition of prizewinning paintings from this year’s 54th Texaco Children's Art Competition.
Running for two weeks from Saturday 5 July to Saturday 19 July, 2008, it will feature all of the 161 award-winning paintings from the 2008 Competition.
Included will be the first, second and third prize winning paintings and twenty special merit award winning works in each of seven Competition age categories, including one for children attending special needs schools.
Opening hours are Monday - Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday – Sunday 2pm to 5pm. Admission is free.

- The Texaco Children’s Art Competition, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2004, is the longest running sponsorship in the history of arts sponsoring in Ireland. It began life in 1955 and since then it has enjoyed an unbroken history of success.
