ART WORK BY CORK STUDENT ILLUSTRATES TV CAMPAIGN
DUBLIN 16 January 2009 - A painting by 6-year old Cork student Roisin O’Broin from Heathfield, Waterfall is set to delight television audiences across Ireland over the coming weeks.
The painting entitled ‘Myrtle the Turtle’, which she entered for the Texaco Children's Art Competition last year, is one of three art pieces chosen to illustrate a 30-second television campaign being aired to inform teachers and students about this year’s competition.
Now in its 55th year, the Texaco Children's Art Competition is the longest running event in the history of art sponsorship in Ireland.
The closing date for entries this year is Friday, 27th February. Judging begins in March and results will be announced in April. The presentation of prizes will take place in Dublin in May.
