ART WORK BY MEATH STUDENT ILLUSTRATES TV CAMPAIGN
DUBLIN 16 January 2009 - A painting by 12-year old Meath student Keelynn O’Connor from Hill of Ward, Athboy is set to delight television audiences across Ireland over the coming weeks.
The untitled painting which depicts a dancing girl, which she entered for the Texaco Children's Art Competition last year, is one of three art pieces chosen to illustrate a 30-second television campaign being aired to inform teachers and students about this year’s competition.
Now attending Athboy Community School, she was a student at O'Growney National School when she entered the competition.
In its 55th year, the Texaco Children's Art Competition is the longest running event in the history of art sponsorship in Ireland.
The closing date for entries this year is Friday, 27th February. Judging begins
in March and results will be announced in April. The presentation of prizes will take place in Dublin in May.
