WATERFORD FIRST TO SEE 2010 TEXACO ART WINNERS

DUBLIN 19th APRIL 2010 – The people of Waterford will be the first in Ireland to view the top paintings in this year’s 56th Texaco Children’s Art Competition when an exhibition of winning entries opens at Christ Church Cathedral, Cathedral Square, Waterford on Friday next, 23rd April.

Amongst the paintings on show will be a work by Aoife Hamilton (age 11) from Scoil Náisiúnta Baile Mhic Airt, Dúngarbhán entitled ‘Nóiníní Móra’ which won third prize in the 9-11 years age category.

The exhibition will be officially opened at 12 noon on Friday next (23rd April) by Cllr John Halligan, Mayor of Waterford. It will continue until Thursday 20th May, opening Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
