Works by ten young Irish artists – all previous winners in the annual Texaco Children’s Art Competition – have been chosen to illustrate a series of 2012 pocket calendars published by Texaco.
 
The wallet-size calendars, which are being distributed though Texaco service stations, are produced for the first time this year and are issued in addition to the traditional Texaco Children’s Art Competition wall-hanging calendar which has adorned homes across Ireland for decades.
 
Produced in durable plastic, each calendar is faced with a reproduction of one of the selected art works.
 
Artists whose paintings are first to feature in this new production are Leon Hart (Le Cheile NS, Drogheda), Lucy Pelham-Burn (Carrowolly NS, Westport), Juliette Morrison (St. Vincent’s Secondary School, Dundalk), Aoife Hamilton (Scoil Naisunta Bhaile Mhic Airt, Dungarvan), Sarah Granahan (St Joseph’s Secondary School, Castlebar), Mantas Poderys (Letterkenny), Cillian Boyd (Ennis), Jingze Du (Colaiste Einde, Salthill, Galway), Rachel Waterman (Bloomfield Collegiate, Belfast) and Ann-Marie Cawley (Jesus and Mary Secondary School, Crossmolina).
