Preparing Your Entry
One of the most interesting things about art is its diversity. That's why your entry to our Competition can be about anything that interests you.
Size of artwork
Your entry should not be smaller than A4 (29.7cm x 21.0cm) or larger than
A2 (59.4cm x 42.0cm) before it is mounted, which is optional. Please submit your artwork in flat format only, it should not be rolled, folded or framed.
Use of Materials
You may use any type of paper, white, coloured, rough or smooth. The work that you submit may be drawn or painted in pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, crayon, pastel, watercolour, gouache, acrylics, oils, poster colour and collage. Alternatively, it may be a print created from a lino block, wood block or any other method, and your artwork may be submitted on canvas.
Only digitally produced works using any artwork software may be submitted to the Competition by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. A photograph or scanned image of an original artwork will not be considered under any circumstances.
Your work should be original and unaided. Please do not copy another person’s work. Any source imagery must be indicated at time of entry. Failure to properly reference any source imagery may result in disqualification.
Number of Entries
You may submit up to two entries per individual but each entry must have its own completed Application Form securely attached to it. Only individual entries will be accepted and they may be submitted directly by you, by your school or by your art group.
If you are submitting artwork to the Competition that has been undertaken in your school or at an external art class, you must complete a School/Art School Application Form.
If you are submitting artwork to the Competition that has been undertaken in your home, you must complete a Home Application Form.
Your parent, guardian or teacher must sign the Application Form and it must be securely attached to your artwork. This requirement is in place to meet the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR), which is an EU law that covers data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WHERE ARTWORK IS SUBMITTED WITHOUT THE RELEVANT APPLICATION FORM BEING FULLY COMPLETED, IT WILL NOT PROGRESS TO THE PRELIMINARY JUDGING STAGE OF THE COMPETITION.
The Closing Date
The closing date for receipt of entries to the Competition is Friday, 28th February 2020 and your age for entry is as of that date.
